Course Overview
This course covers issues relating to the duties and obligations of Directors and Officers. Including fiduciary duties, the duty of care, conflicts of interest and the business judgement rule.
Instructor
Steven McKoen is a partner in the Vancouver office of Blake Cassels & Graydon and practises in the areas of securities, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, corporate finance, and corporate governance. Steven acts for companies in the mining, forestry, transportation, manufacturing and high-tech sectors.
Steven is an adjunct professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of British Columbia and is past chair of the Securities Law Section of the B.C. branch of the Canadian Bar Association. He is admitted to practise in British Columbia and New York.
