Before you apply to become a Contributor, please read our guidelines below. This will help you to better understand what we’re looking for, and increase your chances of being accepted as a Contributor.

Why contribute to Thinkific?

As a Contributor to the Thinkific Blog you will receive:

  • Bragging rights (hey, we don’t just publish articles from anyone!)

Although we have thousands of customers from virtually every industry and from all over the world, the majority of our customers falls into one of two categories/personas. Please keep these personas in mind as you create content for our blog. If we ask you which persona your article was written for, be ready to tell us!

1. Industry Experts & Solopreneurs

These are individuals that have built their businesses by sharing their expertise with others. They are authors, speakers, freelancers, coaches, consultants, bloggers, podcast hosts, etc. For some of them, creating and selling online courses is their primary source of revenue. For others, online courses are just one of several sources of revenue for their business.

Although these individuals are usually the face of their brand, they often have small teams helping them to run their business. They have proven track records in their respective industries, paying customers/clients, and typically a strong presence on social media. Basically, these people are not beginners. They are professionals. Many of them have spent several years creating content and sharing their expertise with others in various ways.

2. Small and Medium-Sized Business (SMBs) and Large Organizations

These are companies and organizations that create online courses to help acquire customers (lead generation & revenue) and/or train existing customers (customer success & retention). It is not uncommon for these companies to have multiple courses, multiple instructors, and thousands of students or more enrolled in their courses.

If you write an article for this persona, imagine that you are speaking directly to the company’s Director of Education (or some other similar title). This person oversees the creation of online courses and training programs under their company or organization’s brand name for any of the purposes listed in the previous paragraph.

Quality Guidelines

We are committed to publishing high-quality content that is valuable and helpful for our community. This means:

  • No plagiarism. Your content must be unique and your own.
  • No recycled content. Do not send us content that has already been published elsewhere (unless approved by us beforehand).
  • No generic topics that are not relevant to our community.
  • No fluff. Share advice that is specific and practical.
  • No unproven theories. Speak from experience, and use credible research and examples to support your points.

In summary: if you send us plagiarized, recycled, generic, or fluffy content, we will politely decline your submission.


Articles should be a minimum of 1,000 words. Our ideal length is 1,500 words or more.


All facts and claims must be accurate. Cite sources for researched facts. Link to them when possible, but don’t overdo external links. Do not link to any company that could be considered our competitor. You may link to your own website or online course in your article, just don’t overdo it.


We will create the main graphic (Featured Image) for the article. That being said, we encourage you to include images and screenshots throughout the article that help to support your points.

Once you’ve been accepted as a Contributor, you can submit your final draft (using Google Docs) and any future article ideas via email to our Content Marketing Manager.
