In June of last year we announced that Thinkific was evolving, with a new brand and a new product vision, focussed on solving the most important challenges faced by learning businesses today: engagement, retention, scalability, and AI-driven growth.
Since then, our team has been hard at work translating that vision into real product outcomes. Now we’re excited to share a product roadmap outlining the features and functionality inspired by those challenges.
In this post, we’ll outline at a high-level what’s coming in our product roadmap. This will be followed by a series of more detailed posts breaking down the forthcoming improvements in greater detail.
Thinkific’s high-level product roadmap
In early 2026, we’ll be releasing a ton of new features and functionality to help you scale and engage your customers. These improvements will address the bulk of the requests we’ve received from Thinkific users while also putting us at the forefront of learning commerce in 2026.
These changes can be broken down into a few high-level investment areas:
A reinvented learning experience
- A modern, AI-fused student experience — including an AI-powered teaching assistant — that captures attention and seamlessly blends courses with communities
- Flexible, visual course-building capabilities with a greatly simplified, WYSIWYG editing interface so you can make a truly custom experience for your customers
- Comprehensive community capabilities with AI-based moderation and engagement on both desktop and mobile
Scaling learning businesses with confidence
- Managing recurrent certification business models to remove complexity while satisfying ongoing continuing education requirements
- Redesigned back-office systems to manage enrollments and seamlessly scale to 10,000s of students and beyond
- Custom roles and permissions to meet your own unique needs and support business expansion
- A scalable AI content library allowing assets to be easily imported as well as reused and recycled across multiple content channels
Smarter commerce for global growth
- Globalized, flexible commerce capabilities including multi-currency and global tax support
